We had another great week in the Bunny room as we finished up our unit on jungle animals. The children have really enjoyed playing with toy animals in a variety of different ways and this week we put them out with our play dough. The children had fun hiding the animals inside the play dough and seeing if I could find them. They decorated snakes with dot markers at the art table and played more animal matching games and puzzles, too. The children love flannel board stories and this
week we recited, “Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed” and “Five Little Monkeys Swinging in the Tree”. We also read Where is the Beast by Keith Baker and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin, Jr. and Eric Carle.
Gym with Coach Kate was so much fun this week! After warming up, the children rolled around on scooters, played baseball (with mini beach balls and pool noodles), and danced and moved to some fun songs. We also really enjoyed our outside time on the playground. The children are climbing, riding on toy cars, playing in the sandbox, and going down the slides. It’s great to get all that fresh air!
We have a special visitor coming on Tuesday. A dental hygienist from a local pediatric dental office will be coming to talk to the children about what a visit to a dentist’s office is like, how to take care of our teeth and gums, and how to keep our teeth and bodies healthy by eating healthy foods. We’re looking forward to her visit!
As a reminder, in April we will meet again for parent teacher conferences, during the week of April 22 – 26. A schedule was sent home in your child’s backpack on Thursday. Please return the form as soon as you can. Also, morning preschool will be closed during the week of April 15 – 19, as it is school vacation week. Thank you!
